Technically, this week’s WWE Smackdown will mark the final tapings from the blue brand before the Elimination Chamber PPV event. Roman Reigns will definitely be the headliner of the night as he awaits his next challenge in Hall of Famer Goldberg.
Natalya and Aliyah will continue their rivalry as they are set to compete in match number 4 of their current storyline. Also, WWE Smackdown Women’s Title will be on the line as Charlotte Flair defends against Naomi when this week’s episode comes, live from the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Last week’s WWE SmackDown opened with The Bloodline (WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns, SmackDown Tag Team Champions The Usos, Paul Heyman) coming to the ring as they celebrated Reigns’ dominant outing at Royal Rumble 2022. Heyman praised Reigns and ordered Oklahoma City to acknowledge him when the music hit and out came Goldberg to a big pop.
The Hall of Famer was quick in his promo as he acknowledged Reigns as his next victim. Goldberg then proposed a title match between the two at WWE Elimination Chamber. As Goldberg dropped the mic and left the ring after a brief staredown, WWE officially announced the match between the two masters of spears.
The bout will go down at Elimination Chamber 2022 after a long wait for the WWE Universe. But before that happen, Roman is likely to address the dream matchup on WWE Smackdown. He’s not happy about this sudden return by the legendary superstar who is targeting him, out of nowhere.

WWE Smackdown Preview (11/02/22): Charlotte Flair vs. Naomi
Apart from the Universal Champion, the WWE Smackdown Women’s Champion also has a big task in hand, as of tonight. Naomi has been chosen to be the number-one contender who will challenge Charlotte Flair with the title on the line. The match was made by Sonya Deville and Adam Pearce on last week’s SmackDown.
The Deville vs. Naomi feud continued on the show as we saw the happenings between the two which included an altercation from The Rumble. Naomi wanted Deville to meet her in the ring in 5 minutes to fight but Deville was busy with official duties. Naomi wanted to do it, this week but then Deville said that Naomi already has a match booked against WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair for the title.
The feud between Natalya and Aliyah will also continue on the show. Natalya has picked the stipulation for the match, saying she wants this one to be Dungeon-style, where the match outcome could be decided only by pinfall or submission.
Prior to this, these two superstars have faced each other on three separate occasions. In all those matches, Aliyah scored the victories – the record-setting win in 3.17 seconds on January 14, by disqualification on January 21, and by count-out on the February 4 episode of WWE SmackDown. We will find out whether Natalya will be able to seek redemption against the former NXT Superstar.
