After long speculations, WrestleMania Backlash 2022 will indeed crown new unified WWE tag team champions. WWE has announced that the RAW Tag Team Titles will be unified with the SmackDown Tag Team Titles in the first post WrestleMania 38 Premium Live Event set for next month.
As reported earlier, the new Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns wanted to add more titles to his Bloodline faction. Hence, he recently sent SmackDown Tag Team Champions The Usos to RAW so that they could challenge RAW Tag Team Champions RK-Bro (Randy Orton and Riddle) so that the titles could be unified. The match was yet to be confirmed for WrestleMania Backlash 2022.

In an update to the situation, Randy Orton and Riddle confronted Jimmy Uso and Jey Uso on this week’s SmackDown that took place at the DCU Center in Worcester, Massachusetts. The duo accepted the challenge as WWE went on to confirm the Winners Take All Title Unification Match for WrestleMania Backlash 2022.
WWE also announced that the winners of the match will be named the new Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champions. As you can see, the Raw and SmackDown terms will thereby be dropped.
Roman Reigns Set For Undisputed WWE Title Defense In UK 2022 Tour
WWE had Randy Orton and Riddle advertised for this week’s Smackdown, which came after SmackDown Tag Team Champions The Usos appeared on RAW to issue a challenge. The segment ended with Orton digesting a double superkick. The Usos also featured in the main event of Raw as they proceeded to defeat The Street Profits in a non-title match.
As noted, they were on RAW after Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns sent them to the show as he wanted to unify the RAW and SmackDown Tag Team Titles, ensuing a storyline for WrestleMania Backlash 2022.
In an update, Riddle took to Twitter with a selfie video to announce that Team RK-Bro will be on the blue brand to address the issued challenge. Riddle also warned The Usos that they should better be ready for the confrontation. Orton added to the video by writing the following, “We don’t get sent for. See you both… very soon. #Smackdown”
