Sasha Banks is one of the cornerstone figures in the WWE who helped the company to bring out the women’s revolution in full force. Back in the day, WWE has the least to offer for their female competitors as they were simply labeled as beautiful human beings to put up some skin shows. That trend changed with the debut of the four-horsewomen on the main roster.

Alongside the likes of Becky Lynch, Bayley, and of course, Charlotte Flair, Sasha Banks changed the game for the female roster, starting with 2015. Debuting in the mainstay league of that year, the Boston-billed wrestler earned quite a few accolades in the WWE those speak for themselves. Plus, she has also competed in some of the best matches in the company’s history.

However, WWE still wanted her to wrestle like a diva, a term that always objectified the female superstars in the past. While speaking to Kurt Angle on his podcast, Sasha Banks revisited her time in the WWE developmental. She claimed that the company officials wanted her to train and wrestle like a diva so that the same can be reflected when she performs on television.

WWE didn’t want Sasha Banks to train like male wrestlers

“It was really tough. Still, back then they didn’t want us to train like the men. We were told to train like Divas and we didn’t have any explanation to what that meant. They just came out and said, ‘Hey, no striking, no doing this no doing that.’ We’re like, ‘Okay, but we wanna wrestle. We wanna do it.’” Sasha Banks noted.

“But training was every single day plus live events plus setting up the ring plus going to different towns and putting posters up so people could attend the shows.” (quotes courtesy SeScoops)

It was added by Sasha Banks that they only used to get a day off in a whole week and that was on Sunday. But that couldn’t be considered to be a full-off since they had to get over the mental pressure. So it was indeed hard times for the multi-time champion in the WWE.

Being a top superstar of the WWE, Sasha Banks had to continue with that rigorous schedule during her entire WWE career. This is the reason that she often takes a break from her schedule to get rid of this hectic zone and be charged up before coming back to TV.
