Rating Premier League’s Top Six Clubs’ Transfer Business So Far: The transfer window is open and business is being conducted in full flow by the Premier League clubs. The traditional top six of the Premier League clubs have been in action right from the start as they look to bolsters their squads ahead of the season.
Arsenal, Manchester City, Manchester United, Liverpool and Tottenham have all welcomed new players and facilitated exits as well. On the other hand, Chelsea are the only ones from the top six who are yet to make a signing. The Blues, however, are being linked with several big names and are likely to purchase few players before the window closes.
So as the transfer window heads towards its business phase, we are rating the business done by the Top Six so far.

Manchester City:
The Champions from last season have so far completed three signings. Erling Haaland was the marquee signing of City as well as the summer. However, City pulled-off the biggest coup with Haaland’s signing as they had to pay a mere £51 million to Borussia Dortmund.

Further on, City replaced Fernandinho with one of the most consistent midfielders, Kalvin Philipps. Leeds United received £42 million from City for Philipps. Armenia Bielefeld goalkeeper Stefan Ortega was then snapped up for free by City.
As far as outgoings concerned, big names in Fernandinho and Gabriel Jesus have left City. While Fernandinho left for free, Jesus was sold for £45 million to Arsenal.
Other in Jayden Braaf (Borussia Dortmund), CJ Egan-Riley (Burnley), Gavin Bazunu (Southampton), Ko Itakura (Borussia Monchengladbach), Taylor Harwood-Bellis (Burnley), Darko Gyabi (Leeds United), Tommy Doyle (Sheffield United) Loan, Romeo Lavia (Southampton) have also exited the club.

Liverpool:
The domestic cup double winners from last season, Liverpool have spent big so far. Their star signing has been none other than Darwin Nunez. The most astonishing part of this signing is that Liverpool have smashed a club record £85 million on Nunez.

Furthermore, Fabio Carvalho from Fulham (for £8 million) and Calvin Ramsay from Aberdeen (for £6.5 million) have arrived as well.
The biggest name who has left Liverpool is Sadio Mane. The winger joined Bayern Munich in a deal worth £35m. Takumi Minamino has also been sold to AS Monaco for £13m.
Meanwhile, Divock Origi has joined AC Milan and Ben Woodburn to Preston North End for free. Loris Karius, Sheyi Ojo, Elijah Dixon-Bonner and Luis Longstaff have been released.
Conor Bradley (Bolton Wanderers), Adam Lewis (Newport County), Billy Koumetio (Austria Vienna), James Balagizi (Crawley Town) have been loaned.

Chelsea:
As evident, the Blues are yet to make a signing. Nonetheless, Jules Kounde, Matthijs de Ligt, Raphinha, Raheem Sterling and many more have been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge so far.
On the other hand, Chelsea have experienced a number of exits. Antonio Rudiger (Real Madrid), Andreas Christensen (FC Barcelona) are the notables who have left for free.
Romelu Lukaku returned to Inter Milan on loan (£10 million) after a disastrous season with Chelsea. Danny Drinkwater, Charly Musonda, Jake Clarke-Salter have been released, while Lucas Bergstrom has joined Peterborough.

Tottenham Hotspur:
Tottenham promised Antonio Conte several signings after the club finished fourth last season. Spurs have kept their word, and so far facilitated four incomings.
Ivan Perisic and Fraser Foster have arrived for free, followed by Yves Bissouma for £25 million, and Richarlison the latest addition for £60 million.
In exits, J’Neil Bennett, Jez Davies, Jordan Hackett, Khalon Haysman, Kacper Kurylowicz, Thimothee Lo-Tutala, Dermi Lusala, Josh Oluwayemi, Tobi Omole, Isak Solberg, Renaldo Torraj, Oliver Turner have been released. While Cameron Carter-Vickers has joined Celtic.

Arsenal:
The Gunners’ fans will be happy after the club has spent big in back-to-back summer windows. Gabriel Jesus has been a statement signing for £45 million from City. Earlier Arsenal landed Brazilian talent Marquinhos from Sau Paulo for £3.5 million.

Fabio Vieira has been another exciting addition for £34.2 million and American goalkeeper Matt Turner for £5.5 million.
Departures have also been in bulk for Arsenal. Alexandre Lacazette left for Lyon for free. Matteo Guendouzi has been sold to Marseille for £10 million. Dinos Mavropanos has left for Stuttgart for £3 million.
Jonathan Dinzeyi, Joel Lopez, Jordan McEneff have been released. Omar Rekik (Sparta Rotterdam), Tyreece John-Jules (Ipswich Town), Mika Biereth (Waalwijk), Jordi Osei-Tutu (Bochum), Dan Ballard (Sunderland) are loaned.

Manchester United:
After a drab 2021/22 season, United are eying a refresh of their squad. New manager Erik ten Hag has started working on new signings, with Tyrell Malacia signed so far from Feyenoord for £12.7 million. More are expected to come in as the club needs to replace a number of players who have left.
A host of big names have been released by United this summer. Paul Pogba, Juan Mata, Jesse Lingard, Edinson Cavani along with D’Mani Mellor, Reece Devine, Lee Grant, Paul McShane, Connor Stanley and Paul Woolston are the ones released.
Meanwhile, Dean Henderson has joined Nottingham Forest on loan, and Nemanja Matic to Roma for free.
