Starting with this week, the official storylines for Summerslam 2022 will be underway on WWE Smackdown. The fallouts from the latest bygone Money in the Bank PPV will be there while we can also expect a former champion to be back onboard.
Bayley has been out of action on WWE Smackdown since the 2021 summer after she had to undergo surgery to repair a torn ACL. This kind of injury does require a long recovery time and hence we haven’t seen him for almost a year. Many fans are anticipating her return since reports were published about her getting medically cleared by the time of Wrestlemania 38. It could finally be happening as the former Hugger is back for training in the WWE.

Mike Johnson of PWInsider delivered the latest update on Bayley as she attended the Performance Center for several days over the last week. No details on her activity at the PC were given and neither did we receive a confirmed update on her appearance on WWE Smackdown but it would happen given Summerslam is approaching,
“Bayley was at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando for several days earlier this week, PWInsider.com can confirm.”

Bayley has been teasing about WWE Smackdown return for a long time
Over the past few weeks, Bayley has regularly been teasing fans about her return by using her social media profiles. She recently posted a photo with the Money in the Bank briefcase as many fans thought that she would be there at Saturday’s premium live event in Las Vegas. However, that wasn’t the case and WWE Universe was disappointed with this.
The last time we had seen Bayley was during a televised match that took place on WWE SmackDown in June of last year. She competed in a mixed tag team match with Seth Rollins in which the pair defeated Bianca Belair and Cesaro (now AEW wrestler Claudio Castignoli).
Back at that point, Belair and Bayley were involved in a feud over the WWE Smackdown Women’s Championship. Fans would also love to revisit that feud especially since the scheduled rematch between them at MITB 2021 never happened. If that’s the case then the multi-time champion could be inserted into the Raw roster upon her comeback.
