Two weeks away from Summerslam 2022, WWE Smackdown may shake things up around the championship picture. A Championship Contender’s match is scheduled to be the main event of the night that could change the already announced women’s title match at the upcoming PLE. Also, Mr. Money in the Bank will be in action when the blue brand show airs from the Amway Center in Orlando, Florida.
Liv Morgan won the women’s Money in the Bank ladder match at the titular event on July 2nd. After two hours, ran out to the ring to cash in her contract for a championship match opportunity against Rousey, who had just successfully defended her WWE Smackdown Women’s Title against Natalya.
After getting locked into the Sharpshooter, Rousey hurt her knees and Morgan took advantage of it by kicking in her knee. Morgan then rolled up Rousey to get the pin-fall win in order to become the new WWE Smackdown Women’s Champion.
Veteran WWE Smackdown Superstar Causing Serious Backstage Problems
As confirmed last week, Liv Morgan will now get a chance to prove that her championship win over Rousey was not a fluke when she will put her WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship on the line in a title rematch against Rousey at SummerSlam.
Meanwhile, Natalya claimed that Morgan became the champion in the first place since she hurt Rousey badly with the Sharpshooter at MITB. Her demands were then met as she will now get to compete against Morgan in a Championship Contender’s Match. A win by the veteran superstar can convert the announced title match at Summerslam, into a Triple Threat.
WWE Raw To Offer Old School Contents With New PG-14 Rating?

Another big news from WWE Smackdown Women’s Division is a heel turn from last week. Lacey Evans was supposed to be Aliyah’s tag team partner in a match but instead, she hit Aliyah with the Woman’s Right. This came after she was disgusted by their response as they didn’t give her a standing ovation. That being said, a full-fledged heel run by Evans has started on the blue brand and she might also enter a feud against Aliyah to establish her character.
WWE Smackdown Preview (15/07/22): Theory vs. Madcap Moss
Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns was in attendance on last week’s WWE Smackdown alongside The Bloodline as he claimed to defeat Brock Lesnar in the Last Man Standing match set for Summerslam 2022.
Interestingly, Theory came out with the Money In The Bank contract and ran around the ring before leaving. He also confronted Brock Lesnar from the ramp on Raw and claimed to become the new champion at Summerslam. Now, he will get to back up his words as WWE Smackdown offers him some competition. Madcap Moss will be seen taking on Theory in a singles contest.
Last week’s Smackdown main event was supposed to be contested to determine another challenge for the undisputed WWE Universal Championship at Clash at the Castle. Drew McIntyre was put into that match against Sheamus but the latter backed out of his match stating that he may have COVID-19.
Butch replaced Sheamus in the match and ended up digesting a quick loss. The challenger’s spot for WWE CATC still remains empty as we expect some updates around the situation on tonight’s show.
