WWE Raw has lost its charm to the hardcore professional wrestling fans and they have a perfect complaint to file in. A major chunk of the fanbase has long been frustrated about the PG rating for the favorite wrestling show of Monday night. They have already been through the edgy contents of the Attitude Era or the Ruthless Aggression Era. Hence, today’s PG Era is a no matchup to the contents that used to be delivered back in the days.
The fact that WWE Raw was converted into a kid-friendly program wasn’t understandable to many. But things are likely to change for good measures, according to a new report. It has been noted that WWE will soon get a new television rating for their flagship program. This could eventually take it back to the earlier time when wrestling used to be genuinely entertaining for hardcore fans.

Most of the fans blamed PG-rated content for the declining TV ratings and viewership of WWE Raw, over the past few years. There also have been some pushes within the company to leave the PG era behind, but no such progress was noticed to change things for good. Shareholder and sponsors pressure could also play a huge factor in the content that WWE is currently offering.
WWE Raw will be moving with a TV-14 rating
Andrew Zarian of WrestleVotes tweeted recently to indicate that things on WWE Raw could be altering. The flagship program of the company will soon be moving with a TV-14 rating and not with a PG-rating. This should happen with the July 18th broadcast on the USA Network,
“Starting July 18th WWE Raw will have a TV-14 rating moving forward on USA Network. The PG Era is over.”
WWE Raw: Randy Orton Reveals How Many Shows He Works In A Year
There’s no update on how far WWE Raw goes to offer non-PG content since it’s been a family show for a long time. The sponsors and investors have to be satisfied in the first place and hence not much vulgarity like in previous days, is expected. But whatever changes are coming, these should spice things up the show might increase viewership over time.
A lot of things have changed in the WWE since the PG era had begun in 2008. Now, we will see how things will be different from the pre-2006 era. WWE’s biggest rival brand AEW is currently offering edgy products via TV-14 which WWE cannot. But they seemingly confirmed that at least a bit tweak would be made so that more viewers could be dragged and especially the pro-wrestling lovers from the past.
When Paul Heyman became the Executive Director of WWE Raw in 2019, such non-PG content was offered. Now, those will be back via the current creative head, Bruce Prichard.
