A couple of first-ever WWE premium live events were scheduled to take place in the year 2022, including the upcoming WWE Clash at the Castle (a reincarnated version of Clash of the Champions) and WWE Day 1. The Clash event will happen, next month while the latter event kicked things off for the year in January. Things will be repeated in the year 2023, as well.

The State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia has already started advertising that WWE Day 1 will return to Atlanta, Georgia for the second year in a row and it will take place on New Year’s Day 2023, that’s on January 1. From now, there’s a long way to go to this particular premium live event but WWE Universe can expect to have some firecrackers to begin the next year. It also suggests that the December event TLC would be scrapped.

Tyson Fury Could Face A New Challenger At 2022 WWE UK Stadium Show

The inaugural WWE Day 1 turned out to be a wild night. Heading into the pay-per-view, the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns (then the only Universal Champion) was reportedly diagnosed with COVID-19 and got pulled from his scheduled title defense against Brock Lesnar. WWE then had to come up with a backup plan and set up an impromptu WWE Championship multi-person match.

WWE added Brock Lesnar to the previously set fatal-4-way WWE Title match featuring then-champion Big E, Bobby Lashley, Seth Rollins, and Kevin Owens to make it a fatal-5-way. Being the favorite heading into the match, Lesnar would go on to defeat the other four superstars and become the WWE Champion for the fifth time in his career.
