Roman Reigns defeated Brock Lesnar in a Last Man Standing match to successfully defend his Undisputed WWE Universal Championship In the main event of the 2022 edition of WWE SummerSlam premium live event. This was the seventh overall outing between the two and many believe that this also was the best among all the matches that these two had.

The fresh booking of the match received huge praise on social media from the fans as well as the critics as fans could experience something that has never happened before like Brock Lesnar entering with a tractor and then using it to lift the ring from one side during the match with Roman Reigns still in it.

In the end, it was Roman Reigns who came out of the Nissan Stadium as still the champion, and en route to the win, he achieved a couple of records which go as follows,

1. Roman Reigns has now completed 700 days as the top champion in the WWE. He is the longest reigning World Champion of the last 35 years that is the modern era of the WWE.

Roman Reigns is the only man to defeat Brock Lesnar four times

2. Roman Reigns has also become the only man to defeat one of the most protected characters in WWE history, Brock Lesnar four times in a row. The list of these back-to-back wins over The Beast goes as follows:

SummerSlam 2018 – Reigns defeated Brock Lesnar (c) to win the Universal Championship

Crown Jewel 2021 – Reigns (c) defeated Brock Lesnar to retain the Universal Championship

WrestleMania 38 Night Two – Reigns (c) defeated Brock Lesnar (c) to take the latter’s WWE Champion and become the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion

SummerSlam 2022 – Reigns (c) defeated Brock Lesnar in a Last Man Standing match to retain the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship

Brock Lesnar himself competed in the first-ever Last Man Standing Match in his WWE career. He now has more SummerSlam main events than anyone with the count being nine (2002, 2012, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019 & 2022)
