WWE Smackdown will start its journey in the year 2023 with a packed episode where a tag team title match will feature in the main event capacity. A Royal Rumble spot will be hanging in the balance when Ricochet will go one-on-one with Top Dolla. Plus, Charlotte Flair will make her way back as the new champion on the January 6 episode that takes place at the FedEx Forum in Memphis, Tennessee.
WWE Smackdown Preview (06/01/23): Drew McIntyre-Sheamus vs. The Usos
Drew McIntyre has recently been absent on WWE Smackdown after getting pulled out of a huge match at the recently-held WWE live event in Madison Square Garden due to an injury. However, the Scottish Warrior made his return during last week’s episode.
A singles matchup between Sheamus and Solo Sikoa took place on the show where The Street Champion won and thereafter he decided to take out Sheamus with a running hip attack. He wanted to beat Sheamus down with a chair but then it was McIntyre to make the same for the former WWE Champion returned to make the save. Butch and Ridge Holland also joined the action against The Bloodline.
A week after that segment, McIntyre and Sheamus will now join forces to challenge The Usos on WWE Smackdown for the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championships. This match was originally scheduled to go down, a few weeks ago but it was scrapped as McIntyre was not medically cleared to compete.

WWE started filling up the Royal Rumble 2023 card by declaring the Pitch Black Match between LA Knight and Bray Wyatt. The other announcement is that Kofi Kingston will be a part of the Men’s Rumble Match. The second name is to be declared, tonight.
On the December 30 edition of WWE SmackDown, Top Dolla did not take it lightly after some of the roster members poked fun at him and he reacted by shoving off Ricochet. The One and Only was therefore booked in a match against Top Dolla in a Men’s Royal Rumble Qualifying Match set for tonight.

The Queen is back in the WWE and she took no time to reclaim her throne by winning the WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship from Ronda Rousey. Now the new champion will be welcomed back by the fans on the latest episode of the blue brand.
As seen last week, Rousey was confronted by a returning Charlotte Flair immediately after her successful title defense over Rodriguez. A fuming Rousey accepted Flair’s challenge for an impromptu title match and ended up losing via a roll-up to drop her belt. This made Flair a 14-time champion who starts her title reign with a challenge for Royal Rumble possibly waiting for her.
