David Warner missed out on the final two tests of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) and 1st ODI due to injury, he returned to the Australian squad in the 3rd ODI at Chennai in the place of Cameron Green. The star batter will captain the Delhi Capitals (DC) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 in the absence of their regular skipper Rishabh Pant.
Candice Warner, the wife of the left-handed batter, has revealed his husband’s future cricketing desires. She clears that the ‘southpaw’ batter is still ambitious about playing for his national side in all formats of the game.

Mrs Warner opened up about his husband’s future plans in cricket-
“David still has a burning desire to open the batting for Australia. There’s still a lot of things that he wants to achieve that he hasn’t achieved, and clearly one of those would be to perform at the best he possibly can in England against the Dukes ball,” she added.
“Whether the selectors and the coach allows him that, I don’t know. But I do know he still has that desire and that hunger to continue, “Candice Warner told Yahoo Sport Australia.
It will be interesting to see how Warner plays for Australia in ODI’s as he will important part of the Australia Team in the ODI World Cup later this year. David Warner is going through a rough patch in test cricket. In his last 15 Tests innings, he has crossed the 50-run score just once which was the double century against South Africa on the last Boxing Day Test match.
“He’d love to go out on his terms but you’re not always afforded that opportunity and David fully realises that. He could have easily retired after the Sydney Test this year, but that’s not what he wants. He still wanted to contribute to the team in India and still be there at the Ashes and then we’ll just see,” she further added.
The 36-year-old was named in the 3-match ODI squad against India but did not feature in the playing eleven of the first two ODIs. Travis Head and Mitchell Marsh formed an impressive opening pair in his absence. Although he played the third game not as an opener but as a middle-order batter in the 4th spot, Warner was dismissed by Kuldeep Yadav for a score of 23 at Chennai.
???
It is wicket No. 4 as @imkuldeep18 gets David Warner for 23. Hardik Pandya is once again in action as he takes a fine catch.

“There are so many (T20 franchises) around the world, whether it be the IPL, the Dubai League, the BBL, America, South Africa, Pakistan. There’s also his role with Fox Sports which he’s excited about and wants to develop. We’ll just have to wait and see but at this stage he’s fully committed to playing cricket for Australia,” concluded Warner’s wife on his husband’s future plans.
While, in the 3rd ODI (IND VS AUS), Australia was bowled out for 269 runs, Kuldeep Yadav was the pick of the bowlers as he took three wickets. Now India will be chasing 270 runs to win the series by 2-1.
