Following his unexpected dismissal by Bayern Munich, Julian Nagelsmann is reportedly wanted by Tottenham to replace their man at the helm, Antonio Conte. The reports tell Tottenham will seek to open talks with the ousted Bayern boss about a prospective move to north London.
The German champions announced late on Thursday night that Julian Nagelsmann would be fired, and they have already locked in an agreement with Thomas Tuchel to take his place. The 35-year-old received the official news of his dismissal at a face-to-face meeting in Munich on Friday, after he was summoned by the club in the middle of his skiing holiday in Austria.

Tottenham want Julian Nagelsmann after missing out on Tuchel
Bayern have won all eight of its Champions League matches this season, including showdowns against Barcelona, Inter, and PSG. Despite this, they are only one point behind Borussia Dortmund in the Bundesliga table, whom they play the next week. Yet Bayern’s hierarchy believes that having Tuchel in charge will increase their chances of winning the treble, as they felt they had to act quickly or risk the ex-Chelsea manager leaving.
Spurs, who were planning to part ways with Antonio Conte over the international break, and La Liga giants Real Madrid had both been linked with approaches for the unemployed German. The Telegraph reports that Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy is eager to speak with Julian Nagelsmann about replacing Conte, now that they have missed out on hiring Tuchel.
The former RB Leipzig and Hoffenheim manager has long been admired by Tottenham, who wanted to bring him on board in 2021 after they fired Jose Mourinho. Instead, Julian Nagelsmann ended up joining Bayern Munich. The possibility of Nagelsmann replacing Conte will be discussed by Spurs while the German may decide to take a short vacation from managing before speaking with teams and weighing offers in the summer.

Although it is unclear how or why Nagelsmann began to support the team, he is thought to have some sort of fondness for Tottenham and is even rumoured to have purchased a replica shirt. Tottenham believes he would be a perfect fit for the team since he has experience and a plan, and plays an attacking, front-foot style of game that appeals to the fans.
While there is some looming uncertainty over what will happen to Conte, the 53-year-old is still in Italy. After a heated interview following his team’s loss to Southampton in their most recent league game, wherein he slammed his players for being ‘selfish’ and accused the owners for not developing a ‘winning mentality’, Conte may be fired before the conclusion of his contract. The Italian has returned home during the international break, leaving Cristian Stellini and Ryan Mason in charge of training at Spurs.
