Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman, Najam Sethi has revealed his plans to make the Pakistan Super League (PSL) a separate entity, in an exclusive interview with Paksitan’s news website.
While earlier, PCB Chairman reveals that there are many interested candidates ready to buy the new PSL teams. He also stated that he wants at least two new teams in the upcoming season of the PSL. Currently, there are six teams in the PCB-owned T20 league.

PCB Chairman, Najam Sethi stressed separating PSL from PCB management-
“The Pakistan Super League (PSL), should be a separate company from the PCB with the board holding the majority of the shares, but the private sector should also be included to strengthen it.
“In the past, when I presented this suggestion, people said that because I am the chairman of the PSL, I want to create a separate company to ensure my own interests, although this was not true,” he said.
while the owner of Peshawar Zalmi Javed Afridi revealed two new teams would be included in the PSL in the forthcoming edition. Javed added fuel to rumours by announcing two new clubs during a recent Facebook Q&A session.
“Now that I am the head of the PCB management committee, my position remains the same that the PSL should be a separate company, with its own secretariat, chairman, and board of governors,” concluded Sethi on new PSL management.

While in the 2023 season of PSL, Lahore Qalandars registered an epic one-run win over Multan Sultans in the thrilling final. Shaheen Afridi captained Lahore Qalandars for back-to-back titles – Qalandars is the first team to achieve this feat in PSL.
Lahore Qalandars finished at the top of the table with 7 wins from 10 games and then went on to win the championship. Shaheen Afridi was the star performer for Lahore Qalandars throughout the league–and in the final Shaheen scored a 15-ball 44 not out–and took 4 for 51 to take his team to the second consecutive championship title in two years.
