India’s Test specialist Cheteshwar Pujara played a wonderful innings in the 2016 Duleep Trophy final. Pujara scored an unbeaten 256 runs as his team – India Blue made 693/6 before declaring their innings.

- On day 2, Pujara completed his double-century. It was a historic double century as Pujara became first ever cricketer to hit a double century in a pink ball match.
- This double-century was Pujara’s 10th first-class double century which takes him to joint second on the list of Indian cricketers to have scored the most first-class double century. Sunil Gavaskar, Vijay Hazare, and Rahul Dravid are the other Indian cricketers who had hit 10 first-class double centuries.
Vijay Merchant has hit 11 double-centuries in the first-class career which is the most no. of first-class double century hit by an Indian cricketer till the date.
- Cheteshwar Pujara remained unbeaten on 256 runs at the end of India Blue’s 1st innings (693/6 decl.). Pujara’s 256-runs was the 10th highest individual score in Duleep trophy history.
