- Indian pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar bowled very well on the day 2. At the stumps on day 2, his bowling figure was 10-0-33-5. It was Bhuvneshwar’s 1st 5-wicket haul in a home Test innings. Overall, it was Bhuvneshwar’s 4th 5-wicket haul in a Test innings.
Also, Bhuvneshwar is the third Indian pacer to claim a 5-wicket haul in a home Test innings against New Zealand. Before Bhuvneshwar, Javagal Srinath (6/45 at Mohali in 1999) and Ramakant Desai (6/56 at Mumbai, Brabourne Stadium in 1965) were the other two Indian pacers who had claimed 5-wicket hauls in a home Test innings against New Zealand.
