Thanks to yet another scintillating effort from the ever dynamic Indian captain Virat Kohli, India find themselves in a comfortable position. With a lead that has already crossed the fifty run mark, and with three wickets yet intact, one feels that this could be another special game for the hosts. Virat Kohli continued his unbelievable run of form, as he amassed the 15th century of his test career. En route to his century, the Delhi dynamite went on to break quite a few records as statistics tumbled one after the other.
Kohli found able support from the lower order batsmen, mainly Ravindra Jadeja and Jayant Yadav. After R. Ashwin was dismissed, it seemed that England could storm back into the game, but two defiant stands between Kohli-Jadeja and then Kohli-Yadav ensured that such a thing didn’t happen.
An interesting aspect was noticed, however, during the partnership between Kohli and Jadeja. England leg-spinner Adil Rashid bowled like a workhorse as he bowled an elongated spell like a complete team player. During his spell, Rashid was seen bowling quite a few deliveries from outside the side crease.
Some of the deliveries which Rashid bowled to Kohli and Jadeja, were bowled from outside the side crease and according to the rules, that can be termed as a no ball. However, during the 110th over, commentator Nasser Hussain and L. Sivaramakrishnan clearly explained that Rashid wasn’t bowling any no balls as he was bowling according to what was stated in the rule book.
Check out the video below, to hear what the commentators explain about Rashid’s deliveries.
