Asia Cup 2023 Venue:
While Pakistan were originally awarded the hosting rights for Asia Cup 2023, it looks highly unlikely that they would be able to host the competition this year. The reason behind it is Team India’s stance over not visiting Pakistan due to the poor bilateral relations between the two countries. BCCI secretary Jay Shah has already announced that Team India won’t visit Pakistan.
Recently, reports stated that Pakistan proposed a hybrid model where they would host the Asia Cup games except India’s games. The Pakistan Cricket Board proposed that India could play their games in Dubai. However, India as well as several other members nations of the Asian Cricket Council rejected the proposal owing to several reasons. And as per recent reports, Sri Lanka are likely to host the Asia Cup this year.
