India vs West Indies 2019: Mayank Agarwal Replaces Shikhar Dhawan In ODI Squad

The young right-handed batsman Mayank Agarwal finally receives the call-up to feature for India in the ODI format of the game. Earlier, he received the call-up to appear for India in ICC World Cup 2019, now, after six months, he once again earned the call to represent India in ODI matches. He replaced Shikhar Dhawan, who injured his knee during the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.

Shikhar Dhawan failed to recover from his knee injury and Test opener Mayank Agarwal replaces the opener in the upcoming three-match ODI series against the West Indies. India will play three ODIs against the West Indies in Chennai (December 15), Visakhapatnam (December 18) and Cuttack (December 22).

Mayank, who is currently playing the Ranji Trophy match against Tamil Nadu in Dindigul, will join the national team in Chennai before the first game. The flamboyant batsman would like to display his calibre in the middle to make things fall in place for India. But, with KL Rahul in the side, it will be tough for Mayank Agarwal to break into the playing XI unless the team management considers KL Rahul to play in the middle-order.

“While Dhawan’s stitches are off and his wound is healing gradually, he still needs some more time before he regains full match fitness” – BCCI Medical Team.

Mayank Agarwal along with Prithvi Shaw and Shubman Gill were the three choices that the selection committee had. But team management felt that Mayank’s List A record of 50 plus average and 100 plus strike rate with 13 centuries is good enough to try him out in this format.

Digging out his stats, Mayank Agarwal scored 3869 runs in his 79 appearances in List A Matches. During those scintillating performances, Mayank Agarwal managed to maintain an average of 50.90, which include 13 centuries and 15 half-centuries.

India vs West Indies 2019: 1st T20I, Hyderabad – India’s Predicted Playing XI

India vs West Indies 2019: 1st T20I, Hyderabad – India’s Predicted Playing XI; After an incredible home series against Bangladesh, the Indian National Cricket Team all set to take on the West Indies Cricket Team in 3-match T20I series. The first of the 3-match series set to be played at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad on December 6th.

India enters into the game with an extra boost of Virat Kohli, who was absent for the previous T20I series against Bangladesh. The likes of Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Mohammed Shami also made their way into the side. As there are changes to the squad, we have figured the predicted playing XI of India for the first T20I game against West Indies.

India’s Predicted Playing XI:

1. Rohit Sharma –

The vice-captain didn’t make an impact when India toured West Indies after the World Cup. However, this time, he would like to make the most of the opportunity, especially in Indian conditions. Currently, he is in brilliant form as well.

2. KL Rahul:

The series against the West Indies is the golden opportunity for the right-handed batsman. In the absence of Shikhar Dhawan, KL Rahul will open the innings to prove his worth for the team. His performance will be crucial for India.

3. Virat Kohli:

Indian team management would like to ask Virat Kohli continue in the same position. He got a brilliant record against West Indies and would like to improve the numbers in the shorter format of the game. A lot will depend on his batting performance for India.

4. Shreyas Iyer:

He is in the form of his life. Shreyas Iyer scoring runs consistently to cement his position at number 4 slot. He will once again be the centre of attraction during the first T20I at Hyderabad. Besides his batting, he is trying out his leg-spin as well.

5. Rishabh Pant:

This lad is walking on the piece of thin ice. The flamboyant batsman needs to deliver at any cost for the team to make things fall in place. With Sanju Samson waiting in his wings, Rishabh Pant needs to make sure of his position by scoring runs against West Indies.

6. Shivam Dube:

The all-rounder was brilliant for India in the final game against Bangladesh. He would like to repeat the heroics for India against West Indies. His big-hitting skills will be tested during the series against West Indies. The lanky all-rounder already received the applause from the team management.

7. Ravindra Jadeja:

The replacement of Krunal Pandya might straightway get the opportunity in the team. He is in a scintillating form with the bat and the ball. And also, Jadeja had always been a match-winner and a pretty useful option for the skipper whenever the team is in need.

8. Yuzvendra Chahal:

The leg-spinner showed his worth in the series against Bangladesh. He would like to repeat his performance for India in the series against West Indies as well. It would be interesting to see how he faces the big hitters of the West Indies. His performance will be key for India.

9. Deepak Chahar:

The fast bowler proved his worth for the team in the series against Bangladesh. He is heading into the series on the back of a Man of the series performance at the highest level. Deepak Chahar will be a sure shot player to feature in the playing XI.

10. Bhuvneshwar Kumar:

The right-handed swing master is back in the team after recovering completely from his niggles. The flamboyant cricketer will be a centre of attraction, as he is aware of the Hyderabad conditions better than any other cricketer in the team.

11. Mohammed Shami:

It had been a fruitful year for Mohammed Shami in international cricket. The flamboyant cricketer proved he is the best in the business with his incredible skills with the ball. After his success in Test form of the game, Shami is looking to perform well in the shortest form of the game.

”2 Rupay Ki Pepsi, Mushi Bhai Sexy,” Indian Fans Roast Mushfiqur Rahim – Watch

While there are a few cricketers, who enjoy fanbase across the world, there are some cricketers, who receives flak for their activities on the field from the cricketing fanatics across the globe. One of those cricketers is Mushfiqur Rahim, who always been a fighter for Bangladesh but unfortunately, turned out to be the villain for the opposition team fans for his gestures on the field.

Currently, he is in India playing for Bangladesh against Virat Kohli-led side in a 2-match Test match series. During the course of the first match at Holkar Stadium, Indore, Mushfiqur Rahim was at the wrong side of things when he ended up being roasted by the fans of the Indian team near the boundary ropes.

Mushfiqur Rahim performed well for Bangladesh at Indore:

Getting into the details, Mushfiqur Rahim was fielding at the boundary ropes guarding the fence, meanwhile, a section of Indian fans, who tried to have fun by poking at Rahim chanted ”2 Rupay Pepsi, Mushi Bhai Sexy” repeatedly to make him annoyed. However, Mushfiqur Rahim was calm and didn’t give much intention to them, as he never turned back to face them.

Coming to the match, after losing a series in the shorter format of the game, Mominul Haque-led Bangladesh was assumed to give a solid fight for the Indian team in Test format but sadly, they faced a defeat of an innings and 113 runs.

Batting first, Bangladesh had survived to post 150 runs on the board and then leaked 493 runs for the home side, courtesy Mayank Agarwal’s double century. Surprisingly, Virat Kohli has declared innings with overnight score to start Day 3 with the ball, which turned out to be good judgment, as Bangladesh were rolled out for 213 runs in their second innings.

Now, they have many fields to address before directing to the Pink Ball Test, which is to be played at Eden Gardens at Kolkota. Most plausibly, Bangladesh would make a few changes to the side, as they looked pretty ordinary compared to the Indian team at Indore.

But, just like in any other aspect, the game of cricket also witnessed a few cricketers, who are lazy as ever. A few of them can’t even carry their own cricket gears as well.

10 Laziest Cricketers Of All Time:

1. Inzamam-ul-Haq:

10 Laziest Cricketers Of All Time

Yeah, the greatest cricketer from Pakistan is the first person to be on the list. The former Pakistan captain Inzamam was popular for a lot of things apart from his talent on the pitch. One of the reasons was his overweight and lazy. He was a poor fielder, often left into the slip area so that he would not have to run much.

He is also known for his poor running between the wickets. Inzamam had been run-out for 40 times in cricket Second Most by any player. He made the other runner also out twice as his run-outs.

“We are investigating Thara’s role in an alleged match-fixing. Especially, in which a few players of other teams are reportedly involved. We have summoned them also for questioning. He was in touch with some of them,” Patil said in a statement.

During KPL, there were allegations of matches being fixed with bookies operating online offering full details of ‘fixed’ events in a match and the final result at the start of games to people signing up on Whatsapp.

202 wickets in 56 matches with an average of 26 which is pretty good in Ranji trophy. Those stats which he registered in 2017 saw him in the Indian National Cricket Team, which was being led by his IPL skipper MS Dhoni. However, in 2019, he is nowhere in the picture.

He is well known for his consistent bowling. A good pace bowler with a bright future. Gave a lot of match-winning spells to Chennai Super Kings during his times. However, despite that, surprisingly, MS Dhoni didn’t use him during the International match.

Ishwar Pandey was rewarded with a spot in the Indian team that travelled to New Zealand in early 2014. He even played a couple of tour games but could never make it to the XI. Following the series, he was roped in for Asia cup but unfortunately, failed to get the nod under different skipper, as MS Dhoni was rested.

5 Interesting Trades Which Could Take Place For IPL 2020:

5. Shivam Dube to Mumbai Indians:

Dube was a big-hitting all-rounder pursued by RCB in the auction. Dube had strengthened his case by hitting five sixes in a row in a Ranji Trophy match against Baroda. The left-handed batsman’s timely onslaught worked as Delhi Capitals, Mumbai Indians and RCB aggressively bid for him.

The 25-year-old got four opportunities to play for RCB, but could only score 40 runs. His best performance came against Delhi Capitals when he scored 24 runs and bowled an economical five-run over. Possibly, he can fit in the playing XI of Mumbai Indians. An extra-fast bowler has always been a concern for Mumbai, Shivam could make for it.
