10 batsmen and their favorite bunnies

Cricket is a game which is dominated by the batsman over the eras. From Don Bradman to Virat Kohli we have seen so many wonderful batsmen with different styles and techniques dominating their contemporary bowlers over the generations.

Here we look at 10 batsmen who have dominated bowlers like no others did.

One of the greatest Pakistan batsmen of all time, Mohammad Yousuf has made a name for himself during the mid-2000s as he was hailed as the best test batsmen during that phase as he piled up more than 1600 test runs in a calendar year.

The player has made star English bowler Matthew Hoggard looks extremely ordinary as he was only dismissed once in 11 innings they have faced each other and have scored 196 runs during the process.

9. AB de Villiers vs Mitchell Johnson

Mitchell Johnson is one of the most feared bowlers in cricket during the late 2000s and early 2010s. But South Africa’s AB de Villiers always had other plans when he faced Johnson as he never let him settle into his rhythm.

Mitchell Johnson has always found it difficult to bowl to him. After his retirement from international cricket he admitted it by saying, “AB de Villiers, he’s one outstanding player of our generation. He was always so difficult to get out and a huge challenge.”

8. Paul Collingwood vs Shane Warne

England have good chance to win World T20: Collingwood
The greatest leg spinner of all time, Shane Warne has always dominated England in the Ashes during his playing days. He literally had every English fear his skillful leg-spin. However, Paul Collingwood is a different entity altogether.

The former English captain has amassed 165 runs in 10 innings he has played against Warne and was dismissed only twice and has more average against Warne than any other English player.

7. Chanderpaul vs Harbhajan Singh

Chanderpaul should have got 'proper send-off': Lara
One of the greatest off-spinners of all time, Harbhajan Singh was a devastating bowler for any left-hander considering the tricks he had up his sleeve. But not for West Indies legendary batsman Shivnarine Chanderpaul who has dominated Harbhajan than any other player in the world.

Chanderpaul has faced Harbhajan 18 times in his career and has managed to score 260 runs and the Indian off-spinner could only manage to take his wicket twice.

6. Sachin Tendulkar vs Sami

Sachin Tendulkar

Sachin Tendulkar has almost dominated every bowler during his playing days but he has dominated Pakistan’s Mohammad Sami more than anyone else despite dominating the likes of Mitchell Johnson, Brett Lee, Dale Steyn and many others.

The legendary batsman has scored 127 runs in the 9 innings they faced against each other and Sami could strike only once against the master-class batsman.

5. Gibbs vs McGrath

Herschelle-Gibbs

Arguably the greatest fast bowler of all-time, Glenn McGrath was a nightmare to even the world’s best batsman as no batsman clearly dominated him over the years. If there is one player who loved to play against McGrath then it has to be South Africa’s Herschelle Gibbs.

Gibbs has scored 191 runs at a staggering average of 63.67 in 17 innings and has dominated the legendary batsman than any other player in cricket history.

4. Rahul Dravid vs Daniel Vettori

Rahul-Dravid

Rahul Dravid, arguably the greatest test cricketer of all-time, was never dominated by any bowler as he holds decent record against all his contemporary bowlers. But if he had dominated one bowler then it has to be Daniel Vettori.

Former Kiwi skipper, Vettori has bowled 607 balls to Rahul Dravid in which he has got the legendary batsman’s wicket twice as the player scored 275 runs at an average of 137.5.

3. Virat Kohli vs Lasith Malinga

Kohli has a strike rate and average of over 100 against Malinga in ODIs which no other batsman has.

2. Kallis vs Kumble

Kallis played an uncharacteristic innings
India’s greatest bowler of all-time, Anil Kumble is one of the most reliable bowlers as he delivered for India both at home and away irrespective of conditions. However, the 3rd highest wicket-taker in tests, failed to make an impact against Jacques Kallis.

Kumble has bowled 494 balls to Kallis of which the South African scored 191 runs in the 14 innings they played against each other getting dismissed only once during the process.

1. Lara vs Muralitharan
Top quotes on Brian Lara
Arguably the greatest bowler ever to play the game of cricket, Muralidharan was a nightmare to power hitters like Virender Sehwag to legendary batsmen like Sachin Tendulkar. But the mystery spinner failed to get the better of West Indies legend Brian Lara.

Lara has faced 709 balls from Muralitharan in tests and have scored a massive 373 runs against the best spinner of all time. He has a staggering average of 124.33 which clearly states the dominance of greatest West Indies test player.
