Sri Lankan Players banned from entering Chennai in 2013:
Politics over alleged atrocities towards ethnic Tamils in Sri Lanka forced IPL administrators to keep 13 Sri Lankan players out of the games hosted in Chennai. It has happened in 2013 as Tamil Nadu Government felt that it is unsafe for Sri Lankan player to enter Chennai.
It took place because Sri Lankans mistreated Tamil Nadu people, who settled in Sri Lanka. The whole 2013 season of IPL didn’t feature a single Sri Lankan player or match official for any game in Chennai.
