One of the best batsman to play for England. Probably, the best. The sheer weight of runs he has made, in the most difficult position to bat, points to a near-flawless technique and temperament. However, he called curtains on his career amidst many controversies but went away with quite a few staggering numbers to his name
The southpaw led England in 59 Test matches over six years losing 22 of them while 13 ended in a draw. Cook also led his country in 69 ODIs winning only 30 of them during his four-year stint during 2010-2014.
