On January 8, 2015, the Bangladeshi cricketer was detained after 19-year-old Naznin Akter Happy lodged a complaint of “rape” and a “false promise of marriage” against the cricketer . Hossain later claimed that he was innocent and said he will appeal against the court’s decision to deny him bail. He accused the lady of blackmailing him.
