6. Glenn Maxwell:
A lot has been expected from Glenn Maxwell in the middle of the innings for Australia. Unfortunately, he failed to do so. He was the chief contributor when Australia won the championship in ICC Word Cup 2015 but couldn’t make it so in 2019, which saw their ouster.
Australia had a lot of expectations from Glenn Maxwell. He got to bat at number five or number six in most of the games and often had plenty of overs left. But not for once he tried to dig in and get a big score.
Maxwell always looked to hit every ball out of the park and thus couldn’t get notable scores which led to huge disappointment. Because of his inability to stay out in the middle for long, Australia couldn’t finish games off on a good note on many occasions. He played in 9 games and scored only 155 runs at 22.14 average.
