15 player who are approaching milestones in international cricket this month

As the monsoon season gets over in the  Indian subcontinent and the sun is getting brighter and brighter Down Under. Meanwhile, Pakistan are all set to take on England in the UAE and Zimbabwe to host Ireland many records are at stake. 

Sportzwiki, has complied up 15 approaching milestones  which might achieved by players in this season. Many famous players are warming up for the proceedings.

Twenty 20 International 

1) Suresh Raina (IND)

Suresh Raina has scored 983 runs, and needs 17 more to achieve the 1,000 runs milestone. He will be the second Indian batsmen to score one thousand runs after Virat Kohli. India will play the last T20 match of the three match series against South Africa. So, Raina will have a chance to reach the mark.  

2) Marlon Samuels (WIN)

Marlon Samuels has scored 935 runs and needs 65 more to achieve the 1,000 runs milestone. He will be the second West Indian to score 1,000 run T20 cricket after Chris Gayle.

3) Mohammad Hafeez (PAK)

Mohammad Hafeez has taken 46 wickets and needs 4 more to achieve the 50 wickets milestone. Currently, Hafeez stands at number 11, only one wicket haul will register  his name in the list of top 10 wicket takers. But, Hafeez can’t bowl as he is banned from bowling for one year for illegal action.

4) Shakib Al Hasan (BAN)

Shakib Al Hasan has taken 45 wickets and needs 5 more to achieve the 50 wickets milestone. As Hafeez is banned from bowling. Shakib may enter in the top 10 list before him. As Australia cancelled the Bangladesh tour, citing security threat to their players, Shakib will have to keep his patience to get the milestone.

5) Shane Watson (AUS)

Shane Watson has played 49 matches and needs 1 more to achieve the 50 match milestone. Shahid Afridi has played 84 T20 matches, the highest in the  T20 cricket. Among the Australian player David Warner has played 53 matches, the most by an Australian batsman. Watson stands behind him.

One Day International 

1) Aaron Finch (AUS)

Aaron Finch has scored 1,865 runs and needs another 135 runs to reach the 2,000 runs milestone. He will be the 25th Australian batsmen to score two thousand ODI runs. 

2) Niall O’Brien (IRE)

Niall O’Brien has scored 1,903 runs and needs another 97 runs to reach the 2,000 runs milestone. See Ireland Players Scoring 1000 Career Runs. Zimbabwe will host Ireland for three-match ODI series starting on October 9. So, Niall O’Brien will have a chance to become the third Irish batsmen to score two thousand runs.

3) Mitchell  Starc (AUS)

Mitchell Starc has taken 90 wickets and needs 10 more to reach the 100 wickets milestone. He could be the fastest 100 wicket taker brokering the record of Saqlain Mushtaq hundred wicket haul in 53 matches. Starc has 6 matches in hand to break this record. He will get the chance in January when India will tour Australia for five-match ODI series.  

4) Suresh Raina (IND)

Suresh Raina has taken 96 catches and needs 4 more to reach the 100 catches milestone. If he takes four catches during the five-match ODI series South Africa, then he will be the 31th cricketer who has 100 catches in his name.

5) AB de Villiers (SAF)

Abe de Villiers has taken 97 dismissals and needs 3 more to reach the 100 dismissals milestone, and also the 1,000 runs/100 dismissals milestone. Like Suresh Raina, he can achieve this record during the ODI series starting on October 11.

Test Cricket

1) Younis Khan (PAK)

Younis Khan has currently scored 8,814 runs and needs another 19 runs to surpass Javed Miandad’s Pakistan record of 8,832 runs. The Test series between Pakistan and England scheduled to start on October 13. So, inform Khan will easily surpass Miandad.

2) Peter Siddle (AUS)

Peter Siddle has taken 198 wickets and needs another 2 wickets to reach the 200 wickets milestone.  Also, he has scored 974 runs and needs 26 more to reach the 1,000 runs/100 wickets milestone. In the scheduled three-match Test series against New Zealand at home Siddle can woo this record.

3) AB de Villiers (SAF)

AB de Villiers has played 98 matches and needs 2 more to become the seventh South African player to reach the 100 match milestone. In the four-match series against host India scheduled to start in November, De Villiers can achieve this record.

4) Rangana Herath (SRL)

Rangana Herath has scored 980 runs and needs 20 more to reach the 1,000 runs/200 wickets milestone. The  two-Test series against West Indies at home can offer spinner Herath a chance to reach 1,000 runs mark.

5) James Anderson (ENG)

James Anderson has bowled 3,971 overs and needs 29 more to become the first England player to reach the 4,000 overs milestone. England to play three-match Test series against Pakistan in the UAE from October 13, so Anderson will have a great chance to achieve this record if he does not get injured.
