17-yr-old gets Stabbed to Death in Kota over Cricket Game
A 17-year-old coaching student from Uttar Pradesh, who was living in Kota to prepare for a medical entrance examination was on Saturday evening stabbed to death over cricket game in an area falling under the Mahavir Nagar police station.
Meanwhile, it started over a scuffle over playing cricket in Onkarashwer Park in Mahavir Nagar III. However, within an hour of the crime, police have arrested the accused. Furthermore, the court have ordered him three days of police remand.
The police handed the dead body to the family members after postmortem on August 19. Sub-inspector at Mahavir Nagar police station Ramswroop Meena said the name of deceased was Atul Kumar Singh (17). The deceased student had passed class 12 and had been preparing for NEET in a coaching institute in Kota for last three years, the cop said.
An unexpected scuffle with a local 20-year-old school dropout over playing cricket led to the murder of the coaching student, he added. The deceased was playing cricket with his friends in Onkarashwer park around 6:00 pm. Around that time, a 20-year-old school dropout identified as Rahul Bhati reached there and pulled out a knife to bully the students.
Bhati reportedly directed the group of students to allow him to bat a few balls. However, when he didn’t manage to hit any of the balls, he insisted on striking a few more. It was then when the deceased Atul Kumar Singh approached the accused and asked him to hand over the bat.
Bhati suddenly took out the knife from his pocket and stabbed it into the left side of Atul’s chest.
It punctured his heart, and he collapsed on the ground, the cop said. Although he was immediately taken to the hospital, but the doctor declared him dead.
The police arrested the accused immediately after the incident and also recovered the knife used to kill. The court, when produced, ordered a three-day police remand.
