Whenever the team is in a dangerous situation, Gautam Gambhir has come forward and delivered. In the T20 World Cup 2007, he scored a crucial fifty helping the team to score fighting total. Similarly, in the 2011 World Cup, when India was under pressure after losing the wicket of Sehwag and Sachin, Gambhir took off the pressure.

He scored 97 runs before Thisara Perera took bowled him. However, he missed the century by three runs but he had set the tone the game in India’s favour.
