2017 ICC Champions Trophy: Bangladeshi Fans At It Again, Insult Virat Kohli On Facebook 1

With cricket being such a big game in the subcontinental countries, the game enjoys a huge fan-base. These cricket-crazy fans cheer their teams wholeheartedly but sometimes they go overboard while doing the same. And if there is one set of fans who have regularly gone overboard or have crossed the fine line between supporting their team and disrespecting the other team, it has to be the Bangladeshi fans. The cricket-crazy Bangladeshi fans are really passionate about the game and have always supported their team irrespective of the results on the field. However in doing so, they have shown that there is still a long way to go before they call themselves true cricket fans.

From publishing  photo of half-shaved heads of the Indian players to showing their fast bowler Taskin Ahmed carrying the severed head of former Indian limited-overs captain MS Dhoni, the Bangladeshi fans have done it all. Even before the recently concluded Champions Trophy semifinal, they had posted a derogatory photo, showing a tiger draped in a Bangladesh flag pouncing on a dog wearing an India flag.

And giving one more account of their immaturity, a Facebook page of the Bangladeshi fans by the name Mr420.bd posted an image of India skipper Virat Kohli alongside that of a dog. Posting the picture of the Indian star when he had hilariously stuck out his tongue after Mushfiqur Rahim’s dismissal during the semifinal match, the page wrote ‘same’ on the picture. And instead of condemning the derogatory post, the Bangladeshi fans enjoyed it as there were over thousands of comments and reactions.
