The Hales-Root way
Once again, Jason Roy failed to provide a good start to the team and the onus was on the pair of Alex Halex and Joe Root to do the job. Both the batsmen played with utmost responsibility, to steer the team. They shared 81 runs for the second wicket to get the team out of difficult times and get the start which they needed. Root played an innings of 64, whereas, Hales made a contribution of 56 in England’s match-winning total.
