The Early Blow
Luke Ronchi was promoted in New Zealand’ first game against Australia and he responded to the responsibility well by scoring 65 runs. He was retained as the opener in the absence of Tom Latham but this time, the former Kangaroo batsman failed to bat with the same effectiveness and could not even open his account, after being bowled by Jake Ball. It was a big blow for New Zealand keeping in the mind the hopes which Kiwis had from Ronchi.
