The former Pakistan skipper and an eminent politician, Imran Khan, has vented his anger on the Pakistan cricket team following a loss against India in their first game of the Champions Trophy.
The 1992 World Cup winning captain has taken on selectors and has asked for an overhaul change in the system for the improvement of Pakistan cricket. He came up with a series of tweets following the Pakistan’s loss at Edgbaston. Here are the tweets –
As a sportsman I know winning & losing are part of the game but it's painful to watch Pak being thrashed by India without putting up a fight

Unless Pak cricket structure is totally revamped/reformed, despite an abundance of talent the gap between Pak & India will keep increasing

And we will keep facing disappointment by defeats such as the one today. https://t.co/noxfc7srWN

Pak cricket cannot be fixed if the Chairman of the PCB is not appointed on professional merit.

Election-fixers & others who are rewarded merely for loyalty to the Sharifs will never reform Pak cricket https://t.co/rrex8TJS0Z

At first, he questioned the spirit of Pakistan cricket team where he has accepted the fact that winning and losing are the part and parcel of the game but Imran was disappointed by the fact that Pakistan did not put up a fight and flattened in front of Indian bowlers.
Further, he called for an overhaul change in Pakistan cricket and blamed the current system for the widening gap between India and Pakistan despite the fact that Pakistan too has an abundance of talent. He continued to blame the system and asked for a change of chairman of Pakistan cricket board and to select a new one on the basis of merit.
At last, he did not forget to score political points, as he blamed those who are close to Nawaz Sharif – the current Prime Minister of Pakistan – are preferred for a place in the team.
Before this, Shahid Afridi has too questioned Pakistan cricket team and accepted the fact that India has evolved over the years, whereas, Pakistan cricket still lags behind.
With the loss, Pakistan has put itself in trouble, as now they have to win two of their remaining matches so as to assure a place in the semifinals and if they lose both their games, then it will be second consecutive time when they will end their Champions Trophy journey even without a single win.
