Bhuvneshwar Kumar wrecked the Bangladeshi top order with the new ball. The swing bowler luckily had some support from the pitch and made full use of it by removing opener Soumya Sarkar and No.3 Sabbir Rahman. This double strike gave India a perfect start to the match. But, unfortunately, he was not able to add more wickets to his tally and eventually finished with a tally of 2/53.
