The flamboyant opener marked his return to ODI cricket for the first time since October with a decent knock of 91. Initially, he played safe by not taking on the accurate Mohammad Amir and that move reaped dividends, as once he was set, he went after the bowling and set up a solid base for the side.
However, despite being set, while he was in the 70’s, Rohit got stuck and couldn’t get a move on which sucked the momentum from the team to a certain extent.
Dismissed on 91 off 119, it was a good return for the opener into the team, but would be hoping to be a little more free-flowing against Sri Lanka in the next game.
