2017 ICC Champions Trophy: India Vs Pakistan - Turning Points 2

A Slow Start For A Solid Base

The first ball that Rohit Sharma faced off Mohammed Amir was a clear Jaffa that beat him. The second ball was also a surprise and an exuberant Amir hurled a comment at Rohit, to which Rohit replied. This was probably a Mushfiqur Rahim moment for Amir where he sensed a win against Rohit but was left empty handed.

A slow start put on by Rohit and Shikhar Dhawan helped them to stamp their eyes on the crease and see off the new ball, which was moving quite a lot. At the end of nine overs, India was at a score of 37, which wasn’t apt considering the aggression filled in both the batsmen but as soon as they returned to bat after the first instalment of rain, they were a changed batsmen and runs started coming off their bat.

Both then scored 136 runs for the first wicket, to get best of the starts, which was later cashed by the other batsmen in the slog overs.
