2017 ICC Champions Trophy: India Vs South Africa - Five Turning Points 2

  1. Indian Pacers Exhibit Brilliance With The New Ball:

The last time India and South Africa met in an ODI, it was in October 2015, when South Africa registered a colossal 438 on the board. A big reason behind that was the flier off a start which the top order gave, putting on more than 75 runs in the first 10. Had South Africa been allowed to do the same on Sunday, the result could have been potentially different.

However, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, a casualty of that mentioned game, was right on the money, as he didn’t give any room to Amla and De Kock. Jasprit Bumrah too was right in his element keep things tight and ensuring that De Kock didn’t take off while Amla took his time to get in. With just 35 runs in the first 10 overs, the Indian new ball bowlers gave the side a clear tactical victory.
