The former skipper had a job to lay a strong foundation with his opening partner. Both of them did as per the plan. Azhar’s role was to be the strike-rotator in the pair and let Fakhar Zaman do the hitting. They did as per the plan until the time Zaman was at the crease, which saw Pakistan getting 74 runs on the board for the first wicket in 11.2 overs.
