2017 ICC Champions Trophy: Semi-final 1 - England v Pakistan Toss Report 1

Pakistan wins the toss and elected to field first. In what came as a shocker for Pakistan fans, Mohammad Amir is ruled out due to a back spasm. Ruman Raees is a left-arm medium fast bowler.

Rightfully justifying the tag of favourites, this has by far been England’s most dominant outing ever in any 50-over tournament. The turnaround of this side which took off a couple of years ago has been extremely inspiring and the outfit which once played ODI’s just for the sake of it, are now on the verge of doing something extremely dramatic.

Here is what Eoin Morgan said at the toss:

We don’t mind, had we won the toss we would have batted first. Pakistan managed to chase in the last game. The groundsmen have done fantastic job. The wicket looks good. I think you got to be prepared, on their day they can beat any side. They are a strong side and they would ike to produce their best. Jason Roy misses out and Jonny Bairstow comes in.

Here are the playing XI for both the teams:

Sarfraz Ahmed updated on Mohammad Amir’s injury:

We will bowl first today. It looks like a good batting pitch, hopefully, it won’t change today. Mohammad Amir is not playing today, he has back spasm.
