Making his return to the format for the first time since November 2015, Lasith Malinga endured a poor outing in his comeback match. Bowling with the new ball, Malinga did manage to keep things tight against De Kock and Amla, but then he failed to take a wicket, which was his primary job. Bowling well at the death, Malinga wasn’t among the wickets but was economical.
