Perceived as someone who could possibly do the role of Angelo Mathews in his absence, Gunaratne disappointed to a great extent. With the ball, he was taken apart for 64 in 10 overs without taking a wicket. With the bat as well, he was below par, as he was dismissed for four by Imran Tahir. Being a finisher, Gunaratne will have to step up for the next couple of games.
