Upul Tharanga’s Resistance and Lasith Malinga’s Costly Miss.

The left-handed batsman and most experienced campaigner in the Sri Lankan side, Upul Tharanga was the top scorer for his side after smashing 57 off 68 balls.
The 32-year-old Tharanga’s innings was laced with six boundaries while trying hard to save one end before perishing on the bowling of Imran Tahir. Tharanga registered 25 singles followed and four doubles.
However, in 17th over, Lasith Malinga made a mess at the long leg boundary while brushing off with the padded-up boundaries, as he stepped backwards while trying to settle himself under the ball. Faf du Plessis went for the pull before top edge went through Malinga’s fingers – to see latter completing a couple and there on, du Plessis scored crucial 75 runs off 70 balls.
