Sanath Jayasuriya – 536 (Sri Lanka)

The ‘Matara Mauler’ has a commendable record in the Champions Trophy.
He has a total of 536 runs at an average of 29.77 from 20 matches. The left-handed opener wasn’t at the peak of his ODI form during the initial couple of editions that he played. He first appeared in the 1998 edition and ended up with a golden duck in his first match against New Zealand in Dhaka.
The year 2000 was also not so great for him. But, the following editions stretching till 2009, were highly successful for him and fans witnessed many quick-fire knocks from him.
He also happens to be the only Lankan skipper to have had his hand on the silverware after ending up as the joint winner of the 2002 edition with India.
