- Asia Cup 2012, Dhaka:
India – Pakistan faced each other in the group stage match in Asia cup 2012. Pakistan batting first got a dream start. Both their openers scored centuries and added 224 for the 1st wicket. Younis Khan played a very good cameo of 52 off 34 balls.
Indian bowlers pulled things back slightly in the last overs but yet again, they had a daunting total in sight. Ashok Dinda & Praveen Kumar picked two wickets each. With a mountain to climb, India got off a horrible start losing their opener Gautam Gambhir in the very first over. But then came a Virat Kohli master class and a knock which would be etched in history.
He added 133 for the 2nd wicket with Tendulkar who scored 52, in what turned out to be the final game for him. Kohli added 172 runs for the 3rd wicket with Rohit Sharma who managed to score 68. Virat Kohli got out with India needing just 13 to get. Kohli was eventually named the Man of the Match for a till date career best 183.
