2017 ICC Champions Trophy: Twitter Hails Shikhar Dhawan And MS Dhoni For Brilliant Show 1

A brilliant opening stand of 138 between Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan followed by brilliant innings of 63 from MS Dhoni saw Indian team getting to a big total of 321. The brilliant start provided by the openers would have been of no use if Dhoni hadn’t binded team India’s innings at a time, where the batting line-up could have been bundled out soon because Virat Kohli and Yuvraj were dismissed on a score of 0 and seven respectively.

Dhoni had the responsibility to first keep the team stable and also get runs on the board. He survived an LBW appeal on the second ball and after that took his time and once in the groove, the former Indian skipper started getting runs, hitting boundaries on occasions.

Meanwhile, Dhawan was too churning out from Lankan bowling and reached his century with a four. He continued to get runs and was dismissed 125. But even after his dismissal, Dhoni continued to play big shots and was dismissed on 63, after doing a brilliant job for his team.

Indian team finished their 50 overs with a score of 321, asking Sri Lanka to chase a difficult target.

Twitter was in all praise for Dhawan and Dhoni for their brilliant innings. Here are some best of the tweets –
