2017 ICC Champions Trophy: Video - Tamim Iqbal Appeals For A Dropped Catch 1

The Bangladesh batsman Tamim Iqbal, today, failed to take a difficult catch of Eoin Morgan when he was on a score of 23. Iqbal claimed the catch but even the on-field umpire before referring it to the third umpire called it as a dropped one, which turned out to be when multiple replays were seen before a decision was taken.

The incident happened on the third delivery of the 36th over when Morgan played a shot which was falling ahead of the Tamim Iqbal. The first centurion of the game made an attempt and moved forward to take the catch. The replays were inconclusive and the third umpire Bruce Oxenford judged Morgan not out whereas former cricketer Shaun Tait tweeted in favour of catch and according to him it was out.

On being asked about the catch, the Bangladesh skipper Mashrafe Mortaza said that the team hasn’t seen it keenly and will have a look at it later. In the end, the dropped catch cost Bangladesh and they lost the game by a margin of eight wickets.

Bangladesh face Australia in their next game whereas England take on New Zealand challenge on June 6.
