With nothing much going right for England in the ongoing semifinal against Pakistan, English allrounder Ben Stokes lost his cool and was involved in an ugly spat with Pakistan spinner Imad Wasim.

The incident happened after the end of the 38th over when Moeen Ali stepped out to play a big shot off the final ball of the over but completely mistimed it. The left-handed batsman tried to go over the mid-wicket but could not time his shot and the ball went as far as Imad Wasim who was standing in the ring. And as soon as the ball went to Wasim, the left-arm spinner mimicked throwing the ball towards the non-striker’s end where Stokes was standing. However, Wasim’s gesture did not go down too well with the Englishman and the latter did not hesitate in giving the spinner a lip service. But Wasim was also not ready to hear everything quietly and retaliated which led to ugly scenes. With the matter getting out of hand, umpires soon intervened before Pakistan skipper Sarfraz Ahmed pushed his player to bring things under control.
