We are almost approaching the end of this year, and like most of the years, 2017 was a memorable one for several international teams who produced some magnificent performances over the course of this calendar year to win laurels for their country. Team India was undoubtedly one of the teams to beat in 2017.
The young Indian team was at their imperious best in familiar conditions and won almost everything that came their way. For their consistent record over the course of this year, India finds themselves three times on the list for the highest margin of victories by runs in Tests in 2017 alongside South Africa who they are going to meet for a full series starting early next year.

The list for the highest margin of victory in the year 2017 is headed by South Africa who recently inflicted the biggest victory on Bangladesh at Bloemfontein on October 6. The Bangla Tigers were never in the match, as the Proteas produced a sensational all-round display to ensure the Proteas registered the biggest victory of the year by an innings and 254 runs.
India is 2nd on the list after registering a comprehensive victory by an innings, and 239 runs against Sri Lanka in the 2nd match of the three-match series at the VCA Stadium, Nagpur. The Lankans never had an answer to India, as the hosts literally tormented them especially in the 2nd encounter which eventually helped India seal the victory by a huge margin.

England also produced a magical performance against the Windies early in the year when they registered a comprehensive victory by an innings and 209 runs at Birmingham. India has played a total of six Tests against Sri Lanka this year and ended up winning most of those by substantial margins.
They won by an innings, and 171 runs against the Lankans at Pallekele in August which occupies the 4th position while South Africa’s victory by an innings and 118 runs against the same opponents in Johannesburg in January holds the 5th spot.
India comes yet again on the list, courtesy another innings victory against the Lankans. In Colombo in August, India defeated the hosts by an innings and 53 runs while the Kiwis are also on the list, courtesy their victory against the Windies by an innings and 67 runs.
