Bangladesh and India will fight in the final of U19 Asia Cup on Saturday (14th September) at the ground of Colombo. Both Asia Cup’s semi-finals were interrupted by the rain. On Thursday, the match between Bangladesh and Afghanistan, India and Sri Lanka were abandoned due to the rain.
According to the rule, Bangladesh was the champions in Group B so they were given direct entry to the final. Bangladesh has played three matches against Sri Lanka, Nepal and UAE in Group B and won all the matches. This is the first time Bangladesh will be competing in the final.
Afghanistan has missed the chance to give a fight to Bangladesh and make their place in the final. In the Asia Cup, the bowling performance of Afghanistan was admirable. It is the only team to win a complete Asia Cup trophy other than India.
Similarly, India vs Sri Lanka semi-final match was also washed out by the rain and no ball was played at Colombo. Unfortunately, Sri Lanka missed the opportunity to fight in the semi-final. Sri Lanka has been the most time in finals but ended up to be the runners up. The games were called off at 2:15 pm local time.
