Caribbean Premier League (CPL) has admitted that more than 200 players have been registered them for the tournament and waiting to make a contract for the second version of it.  The CPL 2014 is proceeding to start from July 5 and it will go on till August 10. 121 players are coming from foreign soil. The CPL committee confirmed the number and said that it is five times of the number of players from last year.

A number of players from Australia are going to participate in the tournament. The CPL committee revealed that 30 players have been signed up for the competition, 15 of them play at international level. Players from more than 7 different nations are going to take part including New Zealand, Pakistan, South Africa, Sri Lanka, England.

The greater part of the Pakistan squad who played in the Asia Cup have been registered for CPL 2014. For the foremost time England is working to be a character of the tournament if the franchise would draft them in.

Only the draft of all players has been made by the CPL committee. The final list will be published in the next week, on March 17.

CPL director Tom Moody said, “The quality and amount of players registering for the draft, in particular the huge surge in overseas players signing up, is testament to the outstanding success of last year’s contest. The high standard of cricket and the unique Caribbean carnival atmosphere have made CPL the competition that everybody desires to dally in.”

Another release from the CPL committee published,“The vast majority of Pakistan’s T20 World Cup squad has also signed up. New Zealand, South Africa and Sri Lanka are also well represented, and the draft will include various current and former international captains, leading Test stars, T20 specialists and limited-overs legends.”

The tournament is starting to set the flame on field on July at Kingston in Jamaica. The winner of the inaugural edition, Jamaica Tallawahs will be maintaining the championship against other franchise teams Antigua Hawksbills, Barbados Tridents, Guyana Amazon Warriors, St. Lucia Zouks and Trinidad & Tobago Red Steel, the similar six teams.
