The Australian pacer is set to get his troubling back operated which will rule him out of the game for five to six months. Behrendorff’s back has seen him miss competitive cricket for long and also ruled him out of contention for Ashes 2017/18.
He did play World Cup 2019 but was ruled out of T20 Vitality Blast after playing two matches. Last month, he had decided to undergo lower spine surgery and hopes to get fit for next year’s T20 World Cup. The back issue had also seen Behrendorff miss IPL 2018 but he was retained by Mumbai Indians. He scalped five wickets in as many matches in IPL 2019.
