While KL Rahul loves to open the innings in T20Is and has a good track record as an opener, he can be a very strong contender for this crucial spot. Rahul is one of the most experienced batsmen in the team and has the ability to play as per situation.

He too possess the quality of playing the big shots at any stage of the innings. In case, India decide to open with Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan, Rahul could be the man to replace Kohli at number three. He is also no stranger to batting at that position in international cricket.

In the past, Rahul has batted at the number three spot in T20Is 11 times and has scored 265 runs with the help of one century and one fifty.
