In terms of matches played, he is the fastest to 350, 400, 450, 500, 550, 600, 650 and 700 wickets, and trivially so for 750 and 800. If we remove run-out from the equation, the most common method of getting out in Test cricket till now has been ‘bowled Muralitharan.’
The spin wizard signed off Test cricket in 2010, with a wicket off his last ball, propelling his tally to 800 wickets. The ODI flame though kept flickering until the 2011 World Cup. Muralitharan was a force to reckon during his days for Sri Lanka across the formats.

He finished his Test career with 800 wickets to his name in Test format of the game. Off them, he registered 35 caught-and-bowled dismissals.
